The Medicean Wood

The route, of medium difficulty, is characterized by steeply sloping sections. Trainers or hiking shoes are recommended, no sticks or special equipment are required. Journey time: 1.5 hours At the end of the climb near the old wash houses, a path winds its way through the woods, steeply uphill but very short, at the end the view opens up over the olive grove and the plain between Pistoia, Prato and Florence. Proceeding towards the wood, you pass the remains of the Medicean Wall of the Barco Reale and reach the hut of the stonecutters, near the ancient stone quarry. At the same altitude, but taking the dirt road from the old washhouses, is our organic vineyard, among the acacia and chestnut woods.

The Olive grove

The path in the olive grove is a walk in nature, of slight difficulty. Walking time: 30 minutes. You enter the oak and acacia grove, and you reach the organic olive grove, made up of centuries-old trees and wild herbs, definitive from the traditional dry stone walls. After crossing the small wooden bridge, you reach the panoramic point that opens on to Montorio and the valley between Pistoia and Florence. Then you reach the cane thicket, the various fruit trees, the constructed wetlands and the chicken coop. Going up towards the farmhouse, you notice the swimming pool, the agricultural shed, the barn.
